Project: List companies you know of, even your own, that has failed to perform any of the 3 primary RAF steps. Group discussion to share these stories.

Module 2: Productize Your Offering—3.5 hrs

Project: Create 4 Productization lists:
• Features of your offering
• Benefits of your offering
• Target Markets for your offering
• Target Users for your offering

Project: Competitive Analysis and UVPs
• Iterative search online to find at least 5 competing companies to yours.
• Create a Competitive Analysis chart.
• Identify at least 3 differentiators from your competition.
• Define your offering’s UVPs.

Project: Create an Elevator Pitch and pitch it to the group for feedback.

Module 5: Horizontal & Vertical Marketing—2 hrs

Project: List at least 3 projected horizontal and/or vertical markets for your current offering. Additionally, list at least 3 potential horizontal and/or vertical products for your new venture.

Project: Describe the Profit Model your company currently uses. If you don’t have one, pick a Profit Model you’d like to implement for your offering to sell directly, or for your startup.

Project: Write a Tagline or Slogan for your offering and company.
Share your product name, company name, and taglines with group for feedback.
Project: (For companies with existing logos) Identify Brand Elements in your logo and implement Brand Standards.

Module 7: Design Fundamentals—3 hrs
1. Introduction to Graphic Design
2. Psychological Elements of Design
3. Line Art vs Continuous Tone
4. Applied Color Theory
5. Color Reproduction Across Media

Project: Using the Color Wheel, Find a Continuous Tone logo, and turn it into a Line Art logo with a harmonic color scheme. If you have an existing logo, use the Color Wheel to create a harmonic scheme.

Project: Produce thumbnail sketches of a digital or print ad for your product or service with an effective, responsive layout.

Project: Begin a Visual Library of reproduction-quality images and video clips.

Module 11: Digital Marketing—3 hrs
1. User Interface Design and Engagement

Project: Design a User Experience in text, and/or thumbnail sketch.

Project: Research webhosting, and/or CMS, and choose one for your needs and budget.

Module 13: Website Development—2.5 hrs

3. Typical Websites Components & Pages
4. On-site Blogs & Vlogs
5. Free and Low-Cost Website Hosting & Templates

Project: Produce thumbnail sketches for your startup website using imagery from your visual libraries. If you already have a website for your startup, replace your content with more effective layout and imagery.

Module 14: Digital Campaigns—2.5 hrs
1. Cost-Per-Click (CPC) Ad Campaigns
2. Landing Pages & Microsites
3. Video Campaigns
4. Video Scripting

Project: Produce thumbnail sketches of a Landing page campaign, with an embedded video.

Module 15: Copywriting Basics—3.5 hrs

Project: Create a complete Creative Brief for a CPC campaign.

Module 18: Social Media Marketing—4 hrs

Project: Create Startup Profile Pages on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and any other social network your potential audience frequents. Use content from your website, as well as your visual libraries to create your pages. Be sure to stick to your Brand Standards!

Project: Create a Direct Mail Package for your offering and startup.
